Not just cool, amazingly cool
You might have noticed that the name of this book is Cool Mac Apps, not Every Mac App.
When writing a book about the many cool apps that come bundled with a Mac, you basically have to decide if it’s going to be a 1,000-page book that covers most (not all) apps, or a 500-page book that covers your favorite apps—the ones that you use most and that are most useful.
Well, obviously, we chose the 500-page version, partly because we wanted to make the book available before Apple does something crazy, like change all the apps to the next versions that are bound to be even more amazingly cool than they already are.
