We know we should back up important files every day, but really it’s just too much trouble. Surely everything will be OK for a couple of days until we have time to make backups. Months later we still haven’t had time to backup and one of our applications crashes, damaging an important file. Or an earlier version of a file has been overwritten by a newer version with changes, and now you need the original version. Oh, if only we had a time machine that could go back in time and grab earlier versions of files. And, wouldn’t it be nice if the time machine did this automatically, without us doing anything.
