Our Industry

We moved from farms to factories, and our schools went along. While we have subsequently moved to an information economy (or a conceptual one, as Dan Pink suggests in Drive) (2011), our schools are still in the industrial model (that's a separate rant), and so, in many ways, is our organizational learning. Our organizational structures need to change, and so do we.

Even in the area of supporting optimal execution, L&D is largely failing. We are not doing everything we need to be doing, and what we are doing we are doing wrong. This isn't an issue of limited resources, but an issue of priorities and focus.
