In this Revit Families training course, expert author Simon Whitbread takes you on a journey to learn how to create and manage families within the Revit suite of products. Families are powerful objects that share a common set of properties, and are used throughout Revit projects. This course requires no prior Revit Family experience, however familiarity with the Revit suite of products is recommended.
You will begin with a tour of the Family Editor interface, and discover where the various tools are, and how to access them. You will learn how to create new families, and edit existing ones. Other topics include modelling, managing parameters, templates, and the difference between family types and catalogs. You will get hands on with a few different family types, from furniture to columns, electrical sockets, and pipe fittings. Finally this video tutorial covers annotation, detail components, and importing foreign data.
By the conclusion of this computer based training video on Revit Families, you will have a deeper understanding of the process involved in creating and managing families, as well as hands on experience with actually building families. Extensive working files are included to allow you to follow along with author from lesson to lesson in this training course.
