We have seen how life experiences both helped and hindered the leaders who participated in the ROC study as they grew into adulthood and moved into major leadership roles. The Virtuoso leaders—those who lead with great character and also create the greatest value for their organizations—found a way to make sense of their life experiences, incorporating both positive and negative events into one coherent story.
