CLOSING A PROJECT WELL involves some time and work, but it is essential to the control of future projects. Getting agreement from your sponsor and all of your stakeholders that your work was satisfactorily completed is necessary before you can transition to new projects. Retrospective metrics contribute to longer-term control by guiding needed process improvements and validating predictive project metrics. Completing and archiving your final project documents will provide information necessary for defining and planning similar future projects.
