Jiro has obtained endorsements from many key vendors in the industry, who plan to use the Jiro Open Standard to simplify their developments and provide greater choice and ease of use to their customers.
As this book goes to print in, Exabyte, Fujitsu, Hitachi Data Systems, Hitachi Computer Products, Legato, StorageTek, Sun, and VERITAS form the initial Jiro Core Expert Group. This group will define the core specifications and corresponding reference implementation. In the following months, other expert groups may be formed in areas such as console, volume management, and backup.
