Chapter 11. The Jiro Initiative

Jiro is an industry wide initiative sponsored by Sun Microsystems, Inc. that will deliver a standard, open platform for storage software development and management. The initiative is managed through Sun's Java Community Process (JCP), in which the community directs the content and the development of a standard infrastructure for the management of storage resources using the Java (and Jini) technologies.

The Jiro initiative uses the Java Community Process (JCP) in the development of standard specifications.
