Production stages

Programmes have to be originated, developed, recorded, edited and transmitted or, in the case of non-broadcast productions, delivered to the client. Who comes up with the idea, who does the development, the recording and the editing, and what part each person plays in the transmission or delivery is again a matter of what kind of production it is and how its day-to-day schedule is organized.

Every production goes through the following stages, whether it is done in a few hours for a news bulletin or over a year for a special programme to celebrate an important event.
