6 Copy/Synthesize/Morph

At this point, we’ve discussed collecting and analyzing styles. Now we’re ready to practice executing styles through the central exercise of this book, which is called Copy/Synthesize/Morph. This exercise results in four drawings. It begins by executing two master copies of works by two distinctly different artists. Remember, the master copy is a well-established assignment used by artists for hundreds of years to identify the master’s methods via the act of copying.
