Chapter 2. Overview of the RED Workflow

One of the first questions many new RED users have is, “How does the camera compare with what I’ve used already?” That’s a complex issue because the RED is similar to many different cameras and yet unlike any single one. Simply stated, the RED combines the working methods of a 35mm film camera with the convenience and advantages of a digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera. It also has more in common with a traditional film camera than standard video or high-definition cameras, except you don’t pay for processing and printing film.
