Installing Samba

You can install Samba during the Red Hat installation from the CD-ROM or later using RPM. If you need to install the package, first download the current version from Red Hat's Web site (http://www.redhat.com) or locate the package on your CD-ROM. You can then install the package (the current stable version is samba-2.0.7-21ssl.i386.rpm) with the following command:

						# rpm -ivh samba-2.0.7-21ssl.i386.rpm

The package should contain all the files needed to run Samba, including the two primary programs (smbd and nmbd).
