Securing Your Retreat

Besides gathering information, another crucial piece of preparation is to secure your retreat by making (and testing) a Windows boot floppy. Typically, Windows is installed from a CD. To start the installation program, you'll need a floppy disk that can be booted and that can access the CD-ROM drive with the Windows installation disk.

Of course, it is likely that you will be so happy with Linux that you'll never want to go back to Windows. But on the off chance that you change your mind, you'll need the Windows boot disk.

To create a Windows boot floppy:

Place a floppy disk in your boot drive.
