12.9. Summary

Web services interop is here today as demonstrated by the many examples in this chapter, while ongoing efforts show vendors' dedication to improved interop in the future. Web services can be used today to integrate applications across platforms and programming languages with relatively little programming effort. This capability represents the true value of Web services since it has a huge potential for integrating applications both within and across organizations.
