Chapter Fourteen. Color

Look around you. Unless you’re fully colorblind, everything around you has color. It’s not really surprising that folks have wanted to work with color in their documents since—well, since they’ve been creating documents! What is surprising is how complicated working with color can be, especially with all the computer equipment around that’s supposed to make life easy for us.

There’s a range of complicated issues in desktop color: specifying the color you want, getting that color to print on a color or a black-and-white laser printer, and producing film and plates for offset printing.
