About the Authors
Dr. Jim Holt is a Systems Architect for Freescale’s Networking and Multimedia group, and is also a Research Affiliate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he is investigating self-aware 1000-core chips of the future. He has 29 years of industry experience focused on microprocessors, multicore systems, software engineering, distributed systems, design verification, and design optimization. He earned a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MS in Computer Science from Texas State University-San Marcos.
