Learning to Use Your Editing System Better
Instructors who teach NLE for a living estimate it takes about 40 hours of hands-on experience to learn the basics, and another 40 hours before you are proficient enough to edit a show without consulting a training book or manual.

Trade School or University Extension Courses
We strongly recommend taking a semester-long university course to get up to speed on your NLE system. It's usually far less expensive than a three-day training seminar, and you'll get much more practice during a course that meets, say, once a week for eight or ten weeks.
