Thinking About Your Digital Editing System
We're going to start by trying to talk you out of building a sophisticated digital video editing system—unless you have some experience with the editing process. Even if you yearn to get hands-on and do the edit yourself, you don't need to load up with thousands of dollars of high-performance computer gear right away. At least read through the rest of this chapter before you decide. Then, if your heart is still set on that shiny new gear, see Appendix B: Selecting and Building an NLE System.
