In the realm of digital photography, the term edit is often used to describe the process of adjusting your images in Photoshop (or a program like it) to produce the best possible results. We'll get to that kind of editing process in the next two chapters. But first you need to “edit” your batch of images, which means to go through the images, discard those that have problems, and find the ones that you want to focus your attention on.

While it may be tempting to start right in on working with your favorite images and making sample prints, we recommend going through this editing process to keep your collection of digital images under control.
