Choosing Your 3D Environment

If you plan to use 3D content frequently and already feel comfortable working with models, lights, and textures, consider purchasing a dedicated 3D design environment, such as Cinema 4D, Strata 3D, or other reputable 3D package (there are quite a few to choose from and a huge range of prices). If you are less sure but want to give 3D a try, start with Google’s SketchUp, which is free and easy to use. Another free product, Blender, is very powerful but unfortunately not very easy to use, so be aware that the learning curve is the price you pay for extra design flexibility over SketchUp.
