This appendix lists and briefly explains how to correctly use terms that writers and editors frequently look up.
Use the terms as stated in the table in this appendix, and capitalize and punctuate them as shown.
Certain terms might appear differently in products, applications, or other material you are documenting. For example, many companies say “log in,” not “log on.” However, if the audience you are writing for is accustomed to “log on,” use that terminology. Another example is that of “root” and “superuser.” Follow the style of the material you are documenting.
