Chapter 5. Taking Your Pi Off-Road

We're now going to unleash the Raspberry Pi from the wall socket and send it out into the world equipped with a few add-on peripherals for stealthy reconnaissance missions. We'll make sure your Pi stays protected and that you'll be able to stay in touch with the Pi throughout its mission, by doing the following in this chapter:

  • Creating a point-to-point network connection between the Pi and another PC
  • Turning your Pi into a Wi-Fi router which can be connected to the Internet using the Ethernet connector, or by using a 3G or 4G modem dongle
  • Making yourself anonymous on the Internet by turning your Pi into an onion router
  • Tracking where your Pi is using a GPS receiver
  • Keeping your data secret and erasing it if it falls ...
