The GPIO on the Raspberry Pi

Table B-1 is a handy reference on how the GPIO pins from the processor for the three hardware revisions of the Raspberry Pi are used. For a detailed explanation of what this means and for more information on how to use the GPIO to connect your Raspberry Pi to your own electronics projects, refer to Chapters 15 to 18.

The Raspberry Pi Foundation has announced that the model B+ represents the final revision of the Raspberry Pi. In this revision, GPIO pins 0 to 27 are all made available to the user. Earlier revisions just have a subset of these available.
