What You Need

To build all projects in this chapter, you need only a few cheap parts. (You can see them all in Figure 45, The parts you need.)

  • A half-size breadboard

  • Three 5mm LEDs (red, yellow, and green)

  • Three resistors in the range of 220 to 1k

  • Four female/male jumper wires

You can get these parts at any shop that sells electronic parts—for example, RadioShack,[105] SparkFun,[106] Mouser,[107] Digi-Key,[108] and Adafruit.[109] Note that buying single LEDs, resistors, or jumper wires doesn’t make much sense.
