Chapter 2. RapidIO Technology
This chapter provides a more detailed explanation of the RapidIO interconnect technology. It describes the overall philosophy that drove the development of RapidIO. It also describes the partitioning of the specifications, as well as the structure of the packets and control symbols that are the building blocks of the RapidIO protocol. The features of the parallel and serial physical layers are discussed. The chapter concludes with discussions on maintenance, error management and system performance.
