............Throughout this book we've tried to supply you with a variety of hints, shortcuts, and other ideas to make your instructional design process more efficient, as well as more effective. Most of these have been tied to the various aspects of instructional design and were mentioned as we discussed the area they were related to. However, there are a number of shortcuts that don't really fit one particular part of instructional design, but can be great time savers, and are certainly worth mentioning, if not exploring in detail. Many of these are pretty cutting-edge in nature, as they are based in the newer technologies or related to new advances in instructional design theory, but that doesn't make them any less useable, even for a new or occasional designer.

If you are an SME trying to keep your head above water as you create your training program, these shortcuts may not be your cup of tea. I hope you'll have a little time someday to explore them, but for now they may not be particularly relevant to your needs. For everyone else, they are worth at least a look ...
