Preface to the Third Edition

When updating a preface to a new edition of a book, many authors update a few statistics, change a few key data points and relay on the sage advice that appeared in the previous edition opening words. And I must admit that as my deadline for submission reared in the summer of 2011, I was tempted to do the same. But in a world that had completely changed in the seven years since the publishing of the second edition, that would be unfair, even borderline unethical to you, the reader, the visionary, the entrepreneur about to begin your quest for capital.
