10. Multiple Items

It’s one thing to create individual items, and quite another thing to arrange them into a pleasing composition. In this chapter you’ll learn many layout skills, including how to group, lock, duplicate, rotate, scale, restack, anchor, and align multiple items.

Selecting and deselecting items

The position, size, angle of rotation, background color, and other specifications can be modified for a multiple-item selection. The options available will vary depending on the types of items selected—for example, all text boxes, a combination of text boxes and text paths, all lines, etc. Only items on unlocked layers can be selected (see page 290).
