chapter  5
The Mathematical Structure of Quantum Mechanics I
In this chapter we will expand on the introduction to Hilbert space made in the last chapter, to fill in the details of the mathematics used to describe quantum theory. This mathematical foundation is based upon the notion of a vector space, which is an abstraction of the concept of ordinary vectors in 2D or 3D space.
CHAPTER OBJECTIVES
In this chapter you will learn
•  The mathematical tools to move from a description of particle states involving the Schrödinger equation to an equivalent and more abstract but more powerful representation involving vector spaces
•  The basic properties ...
