RESOURCE SMOOTHING

Resource smoothing is a useful technique to estimate the total resource requirements for various project activities. In this technique, the time-scaled diagram of various activities and their floats (if any) along with resource requirements are used. Time scaled diagram is a network diagram in which all critical activities are arranged as a straight line with non-critical events above or below it, on a horizontal time scale. Flotas are represented by dotted horizontal lines and dummics are represented by dotted vertical lines.
