DISTINCTION BETWEEN CPM AND PERT

CPM and PERT differ in the various respects:

 

Basis of Distinction	CPM	PERT
1. Orientation	CPM is activity oriented i.e. CPM network is built on the basis of activities.	PERT is event oriented.
2. Nature of Model	CPM is a deterministic model i.e. it does not take into account the uncertainties involved in the estimation of time for execution of a job or an activity.	PERT is a probabilistic model i.e. It takes into account uncertainties involved in the estimation of time of a job or an activity.
