In this chapter, you build simple and more advanced visualizations for profitability analysis. In the process of doing so, we introduce you to the following techniques of building advanced QlikView visualizations:

  • Creating dynamic dimensions and dynamic expressions through the use of variables
  • Combo charts
  • Waterfall charts
  • Normalized and non-normalized Mekko charts
  • Scatter charts
  • Heat maps and block charts
  • Advanced Set Analysis and advanced search in Set Analysis
  • Organizing objects on a sheet using container objects

Simple Visualizations for Profitability Analysis

In this section, we describe the specific calculations for the various levels of profitability and build a simple P&L report.

You will store those formulas in variables that can be used multiple times within this application. We will describe various aspects of using variables for calculated formulas.
