Using external libraries with extensions

Extension objects give us great flexibility to add our own visualizations to QlikView. Even more so than when we combine them with external JavaScript libraries, which allow us to do things that just aren't possible in QlikView. Unlike using a third-party flash control, the JavaScript libraries usually give us more flexibility and control over the final output. They are usually more compatible with a wider range of clients (iPads, Android, and so on) than a control might be.

In this recipe, we are going to build a fairly simple pie chart using the Raphaël graphical library.
