Command-line tools

Some of these tools have GUI alternatives that are not always mentioned. In my opinion, it is a good idea to learn about using command-line tools even if you decide afterwards that you prefer the GUI options. Linux is one of the many popular operating systems that support CLI. You can find good documentation about Linux tools at http://tldp.org/ (retrieved January 2016).
