Non-attachment

Contrary to popular belief, non-attachment has nothing to do with having stuff and everything to do with your opinions about what you have. For example: if you possess a fair amount of money there’s nothing wrong with that, but you’d be attached to it if you couldn’t imagine your life without it. The same applies to all of your possessions. If you can’t live without them, you’re attached to them.

Non-attachment is healthy. The benefits are clear. It gives you freedom. It protects you from manipulative people. It saves you energy and it keeps you sane.
