Utilizing the built-in report processors
Puppet ships with several report processors that have already been included, and they offer some fairly fantastic capabilities right away without needing to write a single line of code. The included plugins cover a fairly wide spectrum of requirements, from storing the raw reports to sending alerts via e-mail based on certain criteria.
