Who Should Ban Pan Masala and Gutka?
The Society for Cancer in Oral Cavity Prevention Through Education (SCOPE), a public interest group, petitioned the Government of Andhra Pradesh to ban the manufacture, sale, advertisement and consumption of pan masala, gutka, zarda, khaini and allied tobacco products as the consumption of these products lead to cancer, and was, therefore, highly deleterious and dangerous to public health.
