This volume of the fifth ICSSR survey of psychological research brings into focus the review of work done in the domains of biological, cognitive, affective, and personality processes and human development. The title Basic Psychological Processes and Human Development has been heuristically chosen to capture and represent the key concerns of the volume rather than to reflect any deep-rooted classification of psychological processes and domains into binary oppositions of basic and/or non-basic.
