Cognitive Processes

INTRODUCTION

While the questions with which cognitive psychology is concerned are older than the discipline itself, the end of 20th century was marked by the emergence of cognitive perspective, as well as the study of cognitive processes, as a major mode of conceptualizing psychological phenomena. In earlier surveys, cognitive processes constituted a part of experimental psychology (e.g. Broota, 1988; Gupta, 1980; Kothurkar, 1972; Tripathi, 1988). A close perusal of earlier reviews indicates that there is considerable degree of continuity.
