The fourth edition of Protective Relaying adds a number of new topics that have recently evolved into higher significance in power system protection. Regulations are playing an ever-increasing role in how protective relaying systems are designed, applied, set, and monitored. A discussion of those regulations that are related to power system protection, including their impacts on the work performed by protection personnel, has been added in this edition.
