International Copyright Protection

There is no such thing as an international copyright. Protection of a work in another country requires compliance with that country's laws. The United States (with nearly 140 other nations) is a party to a treaty called the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Property. This treaty requires signatories to treat nationals of other member countries like their own nationals for purposes of copyright.
