The U.S. Copyright Office

The U.S. Copyright Office is a department of the Library of Congress, the world's largest library, and is located at 101 Independence Avenue SE, Washington, DC 20559-6000. The Copyright Office administers copyright law and handles the process of copyright registration. The Copyright Office generally registers about 600,000 copyrights each year; it is implementing a system by which applications and other copyright-related documents can be submitted electronically.
