8.6. PROJECT AUTHORIZATION

Once the proposal team develops the business case and project management plan, they return to the decision board (Gate 2) for formal authorization (Step 6). If the project proposal (with accompanying business case and project management plan) is not authorized, the proposal returns to Step 4, where, again, the proposal can be withdrawn, put on hold to revisit at a later date, or sent back to the proposal team for replanning and resubmittal.
