Up Until Now

Until recently, e-learning was most likely a secondary endeavor in the training programs for organizations. The greatest headway had been in training in technical skills or in areas where much detailed information needed to be transferred via rote learning. Many corporate trainers were skeptical that e-learning could be an effective tool for teaching “soft skills” or that Web-based experiences could ever match the interaction achievable in a classroom environment.

The word is out now that well-designed e-learning courses can provide similar or better learning experiences than what is usually available in the classroom. Reasons for this include the following:
