15.1 INTRODUCTION

The unexamined project’s progress cannot be determined without an effective control system. Regular reviews during the life of the project gauges the progress and compares progress to the planned progress to determine the status. Control is a key function for managing the process to assure the progress is satisfactory. The degree of control and frequency of reviews are dependent upon several variables such as project stability, size, complexity, priority, and importance to the enterprise.
