5.5 Quality control versus quality assurance

Having introduced the concept of quality criteria and how they should be specified, it is time to step back and discuss the framework within which quality activities take place. In an ideal environment the project will take place in an organization which is committed to quality. This implies that standards will already be in place for certain activities. If this is not the case, then the appropriate parts of the project organization, for example the project board or the project manager, will have to be more active in setting the framework for the quality of the project.
