2.6 Using software tools for planning
In this chapter it has been assumed that all the planning and the calculation of the consequences of particular planning decisions will be done by hand with no computer assistance. It will be a relief for most people to know that there are software packages that will carry out most of the calculations for you. Examples of these are Microsoft Project and Pertmaster.
In most cases, for each activity you will input the activity name, the duration of the activity, the activities upon which it is dependent and the resources that it will use.
