Initiating

Getting the project off to a good start is important. The initiating process allows the project manager to quickly gain an understanding of the project by defining project objectives, scope, assumptions, constraints, and risk factors. It is also important at this time for the project manager to develop a relationship with the project sponsor and to discuss project management expectations.
