Chapter 7

Completion and Review

Abstract

Projects end for several reasons: they are completed successfully, they are canceled, or they evolve into operations. This chapter guides the reader through the steps involved in the closing process of a project. Project closure and its associated activities are important, but are often overlooked as the project team moves on to its next project. However, ending a current project correctly can improve the quality of future projects. This chapter also discusses criteria for project closure, the benefits of lessons learned, and methods for ending a project.
