This chapter has a number of templates aimed at saving you time and effort as you plan your project. As with all other templates in this book, you may need to adapt them a bitto fit the exact needs of your organisation and then, if necessary, your current project. If you’re new to projects and not completely sure what you need, it’s best to leave most of the headings in and do a bit too much rather than a bit too little when it comes to the Project Charter and the Project Management Plan (PMP). You want to be sure that you’ve thought everything through, and it shouldn’t take that long to do anyway.

This chapter contains templates for the Project Charter and Project Management Plan which in turn contain other things. If you’re unfamiliar with the Charter and PMP, have a look at Chapter 2.
